Toi Matariki Workshops | Years 3-11
The Toi Matariki Workshops is a weeklong series which provide opportunities for students to experience the traditional Maori art forms of raranga (weaving), kotuhi (stone painting) and uku (clay work)
Experienced in the light of storytelling myths and legends, the workshops are delivered from a Maori art perspective by the senior artists which support the creation of a narrative for their toi (art) production.
This highly engaging and fun exercise also stresses the role of nature in society and the importance of taking care of the environment.
This year the workshops will run from Monday 2 July - Thursday 5 July, with two sessions per day. Start times are 9.30am and 12.15pm.
