Covid-19 Guidelines

As we gear up to deliver events again under the Covid-19 Protection Framework which comes into effect on 3rd December 2021, we advise that all visitors to our venue will be required to present their My Vaccine Pass along with photo I.D. in order to attend any event. Exemptions will apply to those under 12 years of age or for people with medical exemptions.

This also extends to all our staff, suppliers, contractors and any other visitors to either VEC or the Vector Wero Whitewater Park.

We have come to this decision after conducting a thorough risk assessment with our teams and understanding that by becoming a venue that is only open to vaccinated people we are able to deliver events with far less restrictions and ensure the safety of everyone involved.

We are working closely with industry associations to understand exactly how this framework will work when we re-open on 3rd December and will continue to update this page as this becomes clearer.

If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms prior to your visit, please stay home and call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting tested.

If you have any queries, you can email us at info@pacific.org.nz or call 09 9767777 or contact your dedicated venue coordinator if you have an existing booking.

COVID-19 Protection Framework - FAQ's

What is the new system?

The Government has announced a new COVID-19 Protection Framework which will come into effect on 3rd December 2021. It will adopt a 3-level "traffic-light" approach to managing COVID-19 and involve the use of vaccine certificates.

What will the new COVID-19 Protection Framework mean for events?

As we are a venue requiring proof of vaccination, in summary:

RED

  • Events (indoors or outdoors) restricted to 100 guests with 1m distancing, seated at all times (*limit does not include event staff, performers etc)

  • Scanning in using the Covid-19 App and contact tracing (event organisers should keep a record of everyone in attendance)

ORANGE

  • No restrictions on events

  • Scanning in using the Covid-19 App and contact tracing (event organisers should keep a record of everyone in attendance)

GREEN

  • No restrictions on events and no scanning/contact tracing

Will Vodafone Events Centre require its visitors and customers to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

Yes, so we can operate optimally at all levels of the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

When it becomes law, we will legally implement a My Vaccine Pass entry requirement for all patrons, suppliers, contractors and visitors 12 years old and over attending events or participating in activities on our site.

This requirement to be vaccinated will not only add a layer of protection for everyone on our site but allow us to operate without disruption.

What if I have an exemption from being vaccinated?

If you are unable to get the Pfizer vaccine for medical reasons, there is an exemption process to get your My Vaccine Pass.

You will need to talk to your doctor and they will apply on your behalf.

Please refer to the official Covid-19 Website for further guidance on this.

What is the My Vaccine Pass?

My Vaccine Pass is the official Ministry of Health system that records your COVID-19 vaccination status. You can read more about it or download your MVP here.

How will Vodafone Events Centre be checking the My Vaccine Pass?

We are still waiting for official advice on exactly how to implement this system, however we will have devices with the NZ Pass Verifier downloaded to scan everyone upon entry and will also accept a hard copy. Please always ensure your phone is fully charged or you have a hard copy as back up, as failure to produce either option will result in you being turned away from your event without exception.

We anticipate this process is going to slow down entry, in some cases quite significantly and will work with our event organisers to allow enough time in the event program to make this as smooth as possible.

What about ticketed events?

If you are attending a ticketed event, we are delighted to say our exclusive ticketing agent Eventfinda is the first ticketing provider in NZ to integrate My Vaccine Pass, making it a seamless experience. Our existing scanners used to verify event tickets will be able to verify the My Vaccine Pass at the same time.

What information will Vodafone Events Centre hold about My Vaccine Pass?

The only information we will keep is that we have validated your My Vaccine Pass and its expiry date. Any collection and keeping of vaccination status will be solely for the purpose of implementing this policy and will be held in accordance with our privacy policy.

What if I don’t want to be vaccinated?

Any person who cannot present a My Vaccine Pass will not be allowed to enter the premises nor participate in any events held here.

What if I can't present a My Vaccine Pass when requested?

Please always ensure your phone is fully charged or you have a hard copy as back up, as failure to produce either option will result in you being turned away from your event.

What if I don't feel well before my visit or event?

If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms prior to your visit or activity, please stay home and call your doctor or Healthline on 0800 358 5453 for advice about getting tested. You would need to discuss any refunds with your event organiser directly.
