The 4 metre high and 45 metre long mural has been designed and painted by legendary graffiti artisits Otis Frizzell and Dan Tippet and it's theme is a celebration of excellence and achievement in Counties-Manukau area.
The mural features some of the greatest champions that this region has produced including Sir Edmund Hillary, David Lange, Jonah Lomu, champion board sailor Barbara Kendall, rally legend Possum Bourne, hip hop pioneer Phil Fuemana, Fisher & Paykel co-founder Sir Woolf Fisher and gold medal sports stars John Walker and Yvette Corlett.
Five locals have made their mark on the massive mural. They're the winners of a competition to find new local talent to contribute to the design. TelstraClear Pacific CEO, Richard Jeffery said the entries were outstanding and showed the creativity of local youth. The five winners are:

Jason Pocklington (16) Howick

Chief Executive of The Lion Foundation, David Conroy said the competition was a great initiative which highlighted the talent in the community.
"This mural will be admired for many years to come and everyone in the Counties-Manukau area should be very proud that young local artists have contributed to such a major public artwork."
