Thousands of people are expected to turn out for a free cultural event celebrating a festival of colours.
Radio station Humm FM (106.2) is working with the Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust to put on Holi, a significant festival for people of the Hindu faith, at TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau on February 25.
Humm FM’s Ronny Kumaran says it’s an event that “promotes diversity with colours”.
“People of all ages and cultures can come together to enjoy the playful spray of colours, and relish the delicious savouries and sweets,” he says.
“There will be food stalls, local entertainment, a live band and DJ, as well as free colours to play with.
“As Humm FM and Bhartiya Samaj stand for the integration of various cultures in society, we have chosen to celebrate Holi with Auckland to echo the same spirit.”
The Holi Festival of Colours runs from 10am-10pm on February 25 at TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre, 770 Great South Road, Manukau.
